R E A C T A V O X
Reactavox has been creating alternative, indie music for the past 9 years. After releasing several well-received works and performing in a wide range of venues and dives, the band began experimenting with the current drum/guitar duo configuration out of necessity in 2002. We soon realized the joy of working with a simplistic, rebellious sonic canvas. From that point on, the writing has evolved to the current exploration of dissonance, melody, and lyrical substance. (all that means is that the songs are getting more interesting but barre chords and feedback still rule!!) Freedom is a state in which somebody is free to act or live as he or she chooses, without being subject to any, or to any undue rules, regulations or constraints. Reactavox is an expression of freedom... and freedom in any form is art. The band's latest 4 song ep, Weerdo , was recorded with Keith Cleversley (Flaming Lips, Hum) and Andy Bosnack at The Playground Studio in Chicago. Frank Dreyer (with assistance from Frank Mullen) designed the artwork on a most gracious grant from the wonderful and talented Ted Grauch (former Reactavox songwriter, guitarist & vocalist during the trio era). Paranoid Nervosa provided the photography. Pete Knapp with Shuteye Records helped with the dupes. The
EP is available in stores and on this site.
Bookings are in the works for shows throughout the US and wherever,
